1984

Lost truth in a sea of lies? Unsure whom to trust? Streams of hatred pouring at you from every screen? Welcome to 1984 . In your hands lies a survival guide for a world of officially sanctioned doublethink. A world where two plus two equals five. A world where there is no past, no future—only a grotesque present. George Orwell, an English writer and journalist, a socialist who fought against fascists in Spain, penned the visionary dystopia 1984 in the distant year of 1949. It remains one of the most widely sold books of our time. Its world is one of an elite enforcing ignorance. Their control over humanity is absolute and unyielding. Even unorthodox thoughts are forbidden in this society. Thought-criminals are sent for reeducation in the grim dungeons of the Ministry of Love. The protagonist is one of the unfortunate souls too deeply attached to the world of the past. The days of people like him are numbered. Knowing this, he makes a desperate choice to rebel against a society of unquestionable dogma—by keeping a diary. This diary tells the story of the final days of the last man in Europe, one who dared to dream and love.
