Anne of Avonlea

Anne of Avonlea is the sequel to the world-famous and beloved novel Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery. Anne Shirley has grown up—she’s now sixteen and beginning her first school year as a teacher. Anne also persuades Marilla to take in the twins, Davy and Dora, and with her friends Gilbert and Diana, she founds the Avonlea Village Improvement Society. The residents of Avonlea doubt that change for the better is possible, and Anne’s friends can’t imagine raising children without a firm hand. But Anne’s enthusiasm knows no bounds! “And what about the adventures that little Anne always found herself in?” you might ask. Oh, in this second book, Anne’s escapades—and misadventures!—will once again make you smile and laugh out loud.
