English Fairy Tales

Joseph Jacobs (1854–1916) was an English literary critic, folklorist, and historian. He served as the honorary secretary of the British Folklore Society and was the head of the literary committee at the London Folklore Congress. “English Fairy Tales” is a collection of traditional English folk tales, first published in 1890. Joseph Jacobs selected the most interesting and captivating stories that had been passed down orally for centuries. He managed not only to preserve the unique folkloric character of these tales but also to make them accessible to both children and adults. The collection includes 43 tales, among them: "Jack and the Golden Snuff-Box," "The Three Bears," "The Golden Arm," and many others. The texts are presented in their original form, without adaptation or abridgment. Dive into the enchanting world of classic English fairy tales!
